What is Rope Access?


Rope access is a safe working at heights method. We as rope access technicians use ropes, harnesses, and other associated equipment to safely access otherwise inaccessible places. We can perform a range of different tasks once access to a working position has been made.


Key Advantages of Rope Access:


  • Safety - When done correctly by trained professionals, rope access is an extremely safe working at height solution.
  • Minimal disruption/damage - We can utilise already existing engineered anchor systems and/or building structure to set up our ropes. This means that often times no alterations to the building needs to be made. We also use rope/drop protection to ensure work is conducted and completed without leaving a trace.
  • Efficiency/Cost Effectiveness - We don't use bulky equipment so we can easily access otherwise hard to reach areas.

Alternative Access Solutions


There's no one size fits all approach when it comes to access. Not every job requires the use of ropes and at times it makes sense to use alternative access methods such as MEWPs (mobile elevated working platforms), mobile scaffold, or sometimes even just a ladder. Some projects require a combination of ropes and these alternative methods.


There are many factors involved when choosing the best access methods to be used. When we complete our initial assessment we consider all of these factors and we aim to create a scope of work that is simple, safe and cost effective.
